Research Summary

Alzheimer’s disease remains one of the most pressing neurological challenges, with its diagnosis and risk factors varying significantly across regions. Vimal Roshan Lokesh’s research employs heat mapping to analyze the geographical distribution of Alzheimer’s diagnoses across the United States and investigates contributing factors such as age demographics, socioeconomic status, and access to healthcare.

Through data visualization, the study identifies patterns and clusters where Alzheimer’s prevalence is disproportionately high, providing critical insights into regional disparities. The research further explores correlations between these trends and modifiable risk factors, such as lifestyle choices, dietary habits, and environmental influences, as well as non-modifiable factors like genetic predisposition.

This innovative approach highlights the importance of targeted public health initiatives and resource allocation to combat Alzheimer’s in high-risk areas. Vimal’s work emphasizes the value of interdisciplinary techniques, blending data science and healthcare research to address complex medical issues.

Vimal Roshan Lokesh’s contribution not only sheds light on Alzheimer’s distribution across the U.S. but also underscores the potential of data-driven strategies to inform healthcare policies and improve patient outcomes.
